The Birth Alarm Classic is the first system Birth Alarm ever developed and has been a trusted worldwide solution for safe foaling since 1992. This model distinguishes itself through its simplicity, stability, and the fact that it operates completely independently of mobile networks or the internet. The alarm signal is sent via a powerful 433 MHz radio signal to a physical Receiver that you can place, for example, in your home or next to your bed. This ensures the system remains reliable, even in remote locations or stables with poor reception.

Works on radio signal

The Birth Alarm Classic system operates via a powerful 433 MHz radio signal. This makes it completely independent of mobile networks, Wi-Fi, or apps. The alarm signal is sent to the physical Receiver, which you can use, for example, in your home or next to your bed. The Classic is known for its stability and reliability, and works even in remote areas or stables without coverage.

Operation

The system detects the mare’s typical foaling position. As soon as the mare lies down completely flat, the Transmitter registers this and immediately sends an alarm to the Receiver. Thanks to the included neoprene girth and matching top piece, the Transmitter is securely, comfortably, and correctly positioned. The 1.25-meter neoprene girth is the standard size for most mares and prevents chafing and pressure sores.

Detection based on natural lying behavior

When a mare is about to foal, she almost always lies down completely flat. The Transmitter, attached to your mare’s withers with an Anti-roll girth, registers this specific horizontal position and immediately sends a signal to the Receiver.
As soon as the mare lies down completely flat, the Transmitter starts “transmitting” and the alarm notification follows within a few seconds.

Three unique modes for maximum precision

The Classic is the only Birth Alarm model with three different modes:

• Normal mode
  Detects the specific foaling position (lateral recumbency). Alarm within approx. 7 seconds.
• Sleep mode
  Developed for mares that sleep deeply in full lateral recumbency, which is more common in older mares. The alarm is only activated when the mare comes out of this position during a contraction, within 2.5 minutes.
• Colic mode
  Indispensable for mares at risk of colic. The alarm sounds within 1 second if the horse lies completely flat for longer than 2 seconds.

Always works, even without reception

Because the Classic functions completely independently via a radio signal, you are entirely independent of mobile coverage or a Wi-Fi signal. Ideal for rural areas or if this is your preference.

For one to four mares simultaneously

The Birth Alarm Classic is the only model that can be expanded to four mares thanks to additional Transmitters (one main Transmitter with automatic Transmitter monitoring + a maximum of three additional Transmitters). Perfect for professional breeders or stables.

Easy operation via physical Receiver

The Receiver has clear buttons and indicator lights for modes and alarm. Resetting is done easily via the switch on the Receiver. Very easy and intuitive for the user.
